However, Gary and Stephanie are grown and have moved out of the house, leaving us with our 2 loving dachshunds named Kate and Allie. They are our stay at home children now.
The reason we started this website is because a dog found me early one Friday morning. I had to be at work in less than an hour, so I made a sign and put it in the front yard, put some food, water and a dog bed in the back yard with the dog and left for work. I thought I would call the vet once it opened about 8:30 and be able to have the owner pick up the pet before I get home. I got to work and called the vet, they gave me the owners name and two phone numbers. I called both numbers and neither one was a working number anymore. So now I have this large dog in my backyard and no owner. I then started searching the internet looking for the owners name. After I finally found her address I tried to get her phone number but it asked for $3.95. Since I had her address and she lived down the street, I thought I would just take the dog home after work. However, about 3 hours later the phone rang and the owners had seen the sign in my yard and got the dog out of the back yard. My husband said that most people would not put that much effort into finding the dogs owners and would have probably just let it go. So that made me start thinking about a way to use the internet so people could find the owners 24 hours a day and that is how this website came about.
